High-speed Salt Spreader (4×4 towed): VALE TS1200

VALE Engineering’s VALE TS1200 salt spreader (gritter) is designed to be towed or trailed at high speed by a suitable 4×4 vehicle. It has achieved EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) and is generally considered to be the market-leading high speed towed or trailed salt spreader (gritter). Consequently, the VALE TS500HS is used by contractors, local authorities and facilities maintenance organisations.

Built in the UK by VALE Engineering, this high speed towed or trailed salt spreader (gritter) has an excellent reputation for been reliable, well-made and very good to tow at speed on the public highway. Capable of spreading wet or dry, brown or white salt, via its unique POZI-FEED stainless steel auger system, this high speed towed or trailed salt spreader (gritter) is designed for use with 4×4 vehicles and other suitably sized towing vehicles.

This VALE Engineering high speed salt spreader (gritter) is fitted with a 1.2m³ hopper to take approximately 1500kg of salt. Capable of spreading wet or dry, brown or white salt, this design is fitted with high quality braked axles and road going wheels and tyres. The hydraulic circuit is driven by an on-board electric start engine.

VALE Engineering’s VALE TS1200 salt spreader (gritter) is also available to hire, being an important part of the company’s winter maintenance hire fleet.

Options

  • Wired to enable the spreading action to be controlled via the towing vehicle’s fog light switch meaning no control boxes are required to be wired to the vehicle. A separate auger reverse switch and beacon switch (if required) is mounted on the control panel of the spreader – please note that the LED work light cannot be fitted with this option
  • In-cab control box to control the following: spreading disc/auger on-off, auger on-off, auger reverse, beacon, work light, spreading width control in lieu of manually adjustable spread width valve, application rate control in lieu of manually adjustable application rate valve
  • Rear mounted xenon low-current beacon
  • Rear mounted LED work-light (red) – only available if the machine is specified with a control box
  • 40mm ring hitch in lieu of the 50mm cast drawbar ball coupling
  • High-speed spreading disc to spread up to 15m
  • On-board key start Honda GX200 petrol auxiliary engine with battery in lieu of the diesel Yanmar engine
